Designed for a famous Hollywood actress and an international rock star, two townhouses - amidst the punk-loving streets of Camden - were merged into a single luxury mansion.

Sprawled over 8,000 square feet, and outlined with ornate classical cornices, the design of the spacious abode boasts six lavish bedrooms, seven equally grand bathrooms, two impressive staircases - with existing fireplaces facing one another for additional warmth to flow.

Calming, versatile and tailored– the couple allowed 4M to take our vision of interior excellence and run with it. Our point of view was translated into an extraordinary open-plan, with vast oak hardwood spanning the length of the house, which also bore the base for the grand staircases, bridging together the two sides of the top-floor.

4M’s unexpected medling of the structural juxtapositions of doorways, walls and windows, allow each element to flourish and push preconceived notions of what is an acceptable period home.

Subtly pushing boundaries, but with a classical repertoire, we decided to merge windows from top floor and the ground floor together, creating ceiling to floor glazing. The enviable views through the full-height windows, were complimented by their outdoor garden, swimming pool, sauna and waterfall contrast against the keynote colours of white and ivory and ultra- chic lighting arrangements.

The main concern for this project was to ensure that -while they were two separate houses - they merged effortlessly into one, to the point where not even the owners could find the seams for.

With the addition of spectacular views of sustainable outdoor water features, this wildly modern home embodies conscious design, and creates a high-spec scheme for the couple to show- off their award-winning flare for entertaining.
