Perched above Ladbroke Grove, near trendy Portobello - 4M Group designed and built the ultimate bachelor pad for our young hedge fund manager.
Outfitted with only the best of accessories, made from cutting-edge materials, this cleverly textured composition exudes an irresistible charisma - in a parelleled fusion of period and vintage details.
While only a dainty 900 sq. ft. compound, it has been artfully updated with wood and tile flooring, fresh white walls, and streamlined personal pieces – that also includes a bedroom, bathroom, and a pragmatically sculptural kitchen.
Collaborating with interior designer Michelle Bertolini, we transformed this outdated two-floor Victorian home, into a post-modernist city base - that uniformed apparently contradictory elements.
Modifying the layout to posses boundlessly high ceilings, and an abundance of windows - together we turned this weary apartment into a world-class home, with a penchant for a top-floor design.
The kitchen uses polished micro-cement, and vintage mosaic tiles shipped from the United States to forge perhaps one of 4M’s most versatile storage systems - with clean contours, and highly durable surfaces.
The newly refurbished interior is a reflection of the client, suitably paired and unpretentious, a vintage feeling that’s tempered by clean lines, strong shapes and sparse decoration.
The finished product was conceptually simple, whilst keeping
its craftsmanship detailed and layered. The play of light and
shadow, smooth and rough, and old and new - has been
tastefully refined to create a breakthrough living space that
will surely send the young gentleman’s guests hearts
aflutter. |
